Last year at one of the EDCO meetings someone mentioned a low cost document camera.  I can't remember if it was a presenter or a member of EDCOits.

Does anyone recall this information?

What are others suggestions to teachers about document cameras?

It seems that most people are choosing ELMO.

Is it the cost? or are the features that are worth the price?

Those that use a document camera are you happy with your or your district's choice?

Thanks

Peggy

IPEVO - that was the cheap camera.  One of our elementary schools is using a bunch of these.  They like them.

Thanks Jeff,

I appreciate your getting back to me.

Peggy - I use the IPEVO cameras at Hanscom Primary.  We bought 8 and put them in classrooms.  For $69 it is a great device.  Three teachers use them every day, one traded hers in for one of the goose neck expensive ones and the others are used less often.  The complaints are that the camera needs to be used in conjunction with a laptop and that the lighting is somewhat dark.

Thanks  Lisah,

I will share that with my teachers.

Hi,

It turns out we just bought 90 Ipevos.

Thanks, Jeff

Here's a doc camera comparison spreadsheet that we put together from Spring to Fall of 2011.

And because we are talking about these cameras.... Two teachers have reported (today!) that the coupling prong on the balancing arm, will not dislodge from the camera. I went to check and sure enough, it is stuck. Pliers pried it out.
Still, $69 is so much cheaper than an Elmo.
